Year 2016: September

“And so I’m back! From outer space!”

Before I go on and on singing my favorite song, I just want to welcome myself back in the blogging world. It’s been a long while since I managed to open my blog and to be really honest, I am uncertain if I have the capability to maintain it.

Year 2015: Hello Ber month!

Hahaha! Time and time again, I keep on forgetting about my wordpress blog. In fact, I haven’t been online much even with my rp blog. ^^;

It’s troublesome and sad. ūüė¶

Anyhow, yes! Hello ber month!

It’s getting chilly and I like cold weather! I like it better than the scorching hot sun during summer. I transform as the devil when April comes. That’s the start of our Summer season. I think?

A lot of things happened that I will not bother you with the details anymore but pretty much things are better than the previous years. That I can say.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to add more posts if not renovate this blog.

But in the meantime, I’m back!

Boar and Sow

I'm so sorry for my *thinks* 3-month (?) absence

I’m so sorry for my *thinks* 3-month (?) absence

I am well aware that I haven’t been posting here on my blog. Sorry, things had been rather hectic in the outside realm. More like family stuff and all that. Oh and work! Yeah, I got too busy due to work and with my recent promotion. Before you pop the party crackers and yell out congratulations, I guess it’s just a simple lateral promotion.

Moving on, last April 4th, I wanted to introduce you to my two babies… and here they are!

My NaNoWriMo Things: A Big Decision

The reason why I’ve been out in this blog for almost two weeks was due to Yolanda, a.k.a Haiyan (the international name of the typhoon). ¬†As you all know, Philippines has been struck by Haiyan and the Visayan region of my country had experience a massive loss for just a day. And right now, my fellowmen are still struggling as they wait for the relief good and medicine to arrive in their shores. To let you know, I live in Luzon area, so we just experienced slight rain and slightly strong winds.

So, my planned photoshoot was cancelled and I didn’t have the strength to put an anime review as I’ve told before.

And well, after two weeks that had passed. I’ve come to realize that I won’t be able to catch up in NaNoWriMo 2013 anymore.

My NaNoWriMo Things: Lesson Learned

Yes, yes, I know love. I'm sorry.

Yes, yes, I know love. I’m sorry.

Yeah, I know Benny. I really should. But give me a bit of time to post this huge lesson that I learned from today.

To be honest, I wasn’t planning of joining NaNoWriMo this year but a friend of mine from my Facebook account told me that I should. Because I’m a bit of an impulsive person, I did, not knowing that I still have to think of a story to write.

So, I just started writing today.

I was at war of two stories that I have in my head. One is a story¬†that has¬†magicians and¬†circus in it (I think it’s interesting), however I don’t have enough time to do research about it. I do know Erin Morgenstern’s The Night Circus but I haven’t read that yet. Also, I don’t have a copy of my own to read it too. I¬†should add that to my books-to-collect.

With that, I decided to go onto my next story that I have in mind. It’s not an original story unlike the first that I have in mind, but I still like the idea. It’s actually a fanfic based on an RP (roleplay, if ever you don’t know but I’m pretty sure it’s obvious) that I did with a dear friend of mine. Since we left it off in a tragedy, I want the two muses to find each other again and have a happy ending.

And since I already have a grasp of characters in there, I think it’ll be much more easy for me to start without any worries. I already have a draft going so hopefully, I’ll be able to catch up.

I know that I should worry about the word count now since it’s already Day 3 but I like working on my own pace. I’ll try that first and if ever I won’t be able to finish it on time, I’ll try again next year.

Right now, I’ve learned something (sort of a slightly hard way because man, I did panic during those two days and wondering why I haven’t written anything yet.) for myself so that next year, I’ll be much more prepared than I am now.

So here’s my own set of How To for myself to take note.

How to prepare for NaNoWriMo (for next year) :

  1. Prepare a story to write: Goodness, isn’t that obvious?
  2. Research:¬†Though I do know that I’ll be doing few research on the fanfic that I’m writing, I don’t think that I’ll spend too much time for it unlike the first story that I have in mind (I’ll just save that for next year. Ha!)
  3. Make an Outline:¬†I’m actually not an outline type of person, so this is just a bit of a guideline for me on how things should go. Because right now, I’m only winging my story, so to speak.
  4. Plan your word count: I’ve actually seen writers of NaNoWriMo have these wordcount that they want to achieve everyday and I think it’s really great to do so. Though I know that you’re all probably doing it, it’s my first time to join this activity so I have to place that one too. It’s also a good thing to plan your word count so you won’t have to panic everyday thinking the 50,000 words because I’d honestly freak out and be terrified. Take small steps so you won’t notice that you already there.
  5. Have a reward for a job well done:¬†Don’t be too hard on yourself when writing your story. Even if you don’t reach your planned word count, I don’t think you should scold yourself for it. The main thing is, you managed to increase your word count instead of not really writing at all. Give yourself a pat in a back or a little treat even if it’s not the one you planned for reaching your desired word count. After all, it’s still a job well done.
  6. Have FUN! : Is this still need to be explained. Nah, don’t think so!

So there! It’s a good experience for me still to write for NaNoWriMo even if I’m not really prepared. I’m still excited about how things will go from here. With that, I shall go back to writing my fanfic because if not, who knows how Benny will punish me *giggles*.

Getting My Hands on Things a.k.a The Welcome Post

Welcome Post Gif

Hello! My name is Cali and to be honest, I have forgotten that I have a wordpress blog. I don’t actually know when I did and why I have forgotten that I have one.

With that said, I’d like to finally have a welcome post for myself. I’d like to start blogging again since it’s been a while and now, I want to attempt in making it active. So, you’ll be seeing a lot of things in here.

Hopefully, before the New Year comes, I’d like to accomplish something new as I’ve decided to start anew in a different site.

With that, I am going to say that I’ll be trying my hands on NaNoWriMo. This will be my first time participating and I’m not really expecting to finish on time with 50,000 words (because honestly, look at me. I haven’t written anything yet and it’s making me sad. However, no time to be sad now. Welp.)

English is not my first language, however, I’m inspired to write in English as I like to exercise and improve the way I write in a language that everyone could understand. Or maybe to simplify, I just want to challenge myself.

I also wanted to participate in NaNoBloPoMo where you’ll have to post in your blog once a day. However, since I missed the first day of November post, I might continue this but not participate officially (which I find saddening). But I’ll just try it next year. ^_^

I’m going to cut my first post now since I haven’t written anything yet for my NaNoWriMo so see you tomorrow!
